La Tour Melas 'Palies Rizes' Agiorgitiko is a remarkable single-varietal expression of Agiorgitiko, crafted from old vines in Central Greece by the acclaimed winery of La Tour Melas. Meaning "Old Roots", Palies Rizes pays tribute to the deep heritage of one of Greece's most celebrated indigenous grape varieties. The wine reveals captivating aromas of ripe red cherries, blackberries and wild strawberries, layered with notes of sweet spice, dried herbs and subtle hints of vanilla.
On the palate, it is elegant and beautifully balanced, offering silky tannins, vibrant acidity and impressive depth. Rich flavours of red and black fruits are complemented by delicate oak nuances, leading to a long, refined and persistent finish. An excellent match for grilled lamb, roasted meats, mushroom dishes, pasta with rich sauces and mature cheeses. Serve at 16–18 °C.
