Basilisco Aglianico del Vulture is a distinctive Italian red wine from Basilicata, produced exclusively from Aglianico grown on the volcanic slopes of Mount Vulture. The volcanic soils and altitude contribute to the wine’s firm structure, freshness and depth, making it a classic expression of this southern Italian appellation.
On the nose, it shows aromas of dark cherry, blackberry and plum, layered with notes of spice, dried herbs and subtle mineral nuances. The palate is full-bodied and structured, with pronounced yet well-integrated tannins and lively acidity supporting a long, persistent finish. Its robust character makes it an excellent pairing for grilled red meats, lamb, slow-cooked dishes and rich Mediterranean cuisine. Decanting before serving is recommended to allow the wine to fully open.
